On April 6th, 2018, Boss Babes Australia launched at the Rubicon Bar & Restaurant in Essendon, Victoria. This is what happened at this amazing event of women supporting women!
Fabulous Food (& Drink!)
Even though I wasn't drinking on the night, boy did I have some serious FOMO watching everyone have some fine wine! I wasn't too disappointed, as we never were at a loss for delicious food. Starting with plates of shared entree, and then a alternative drop menu of mains, it was very easy to feel like a pampered queen!
The Goody Bag
This was one of the best goody bags I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. Not one, but TWO bags full of makeup, skincare, health items, clothing and more, all with fantastic calligrapher Femme Letters adorning each bag. (Femme Letters also did the table seating, and they were equally fantastic!) Did I mention we also got a personalised chocolate bar each? Yep. It was that good.
I hate to toot my own horn, but the speeches were amazing. Starting with Kate Flammea of Press Play Cosmetics, who got very real about running a business as a mum, told her story of starting her business and the incredible work she does creating new and dynamic beauty products. Followed by me (!) talking about my story into business and how women should just g-dang support each other. Finally the wonderful Loretta from Nourished Energy spoke about how we can have positive and mindful lives. It was truly inspiring to hear the other women speak and I left feeling so in awe.
What's a party without photos? Other than the fantastic Natalie Rowe taking professional shots, the photo booth was a fun way to commemorate the night (and was a great ice breaker!)
I didn't even get the chance to speak to everyone on the night, but I went home that night with so many new friends, so many wonderful stories, and my heart full of pride with women cheering each other on, most not knowing any other women when walking into the room at the start of the night. It is events like this that help women in business, that make us grow, blossom and succeed.
It was a fabulous event run by two very inspiring young women, and I cannot wait to attend the next event.
